Design highlight & A few things we considered

• We selected new series 8.46″ touchscreen and 10.1″ touchscreen (bigger size and higher resolution) as the infotainment touchscreen instead of traditional 8.0″ display;
• We designed the touchscreen mounting bezel completely in-house;
• We offered the navigation-enabled version of SYNC 3 Modules at no extra charge (comparing to the non-nav version);
• We considered the difficulty on this full upgrade package install so we offered 2 different install locations for your convenience while not interfacing with other vehicle cabin component;
• We considered a situation that some customer might be interested in upgrading the OEM sound system so we designed and offered aftermarket sound system integration ports at no extra charge;
• We considered a situation that some customer might be interested in adding additional vehicle-signal based equipment such as remote starter so we designed and offered Gateway Module EasyAccess™ T Harness at no extra charge;
• We offered a free gift – “POLICE INTERCEPTOR” emblem, and it could be placed under the touchscreen bezel for a in-cabin highlight;
• We offered free installation service and vehicle feature programming service for buyers in Greater Toronto Area or those who can make their way to Great Toronto Area (upfitting location will be at our vehicle warehouse).

We understand the high-level difficulty of retrofitting/upgrading 2020+ Ford® Police Interceptor® Utility since no one has tried to do this before, so we will try to offer as much as possible. Basic information

For years, adding SYNC 3 to the Police Interceptor® Utility was thought to be impossible. Many have tried, but no one could create a clean, non-invasive upgrade that preserved the vehicle’s original integrity—until now.

Our team at Interceptor Innovations wasn’t willing to accept this limitation. This package is designed for those who want to have the Ford® SYNC 3 Infotainment system in the 2020+ Ford® Police Interceptor® Utility. This retrofit/upgrade will get features like touchscreen, Ford Navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, climate control, driver’s assistance etc. Necessary hardware also included for those who wish to integrate with aftermarket high-end audio components.

The chart below outlines the functions offered by the upgrades on the 2020+ PIU platform, comparing them with those offered on retail 2020+ Ford Explorer models.

ACM(Audio Control Module) location options

You will need to source your own ACM for this upgrade. Prices vary from $70-150 on eBay or your local auto parts store. If you decide to buy from us, please let us know before placing your order.
